Welcome to Bastad
July 31st – August 6th 2017
The Bjare Peninsula is far up in north-west Skane, flanked by the bays of Skalderviken and Laholmsbukten. It has scenic roads, leafy forests, wind-beaten heaths, fertile agricultural land and, by local standards, dizzying heights. It is also packed with tourist attractions, activities, excellent food and comfortable accommodation, with everything conveniently close at hand.
If you say tennis in Sweden, people immediately think of Bastad. Naturally, the highlights are the Skistar Swedish Open and Ericsson Open, the men’s and women’s tournaments that fill the stands – even the whole Bjare Peninsula, with tennis fans in July.
Båstad has also become a new centre for other sports, greatly due to Sailing Bastad. Laholmsbukten offers good opportunities for sailing long into the autumn. Beautiful boats and lots of sails are visible at sea, where the best sailors compete for Swedish and international titles.
