Båstad is situated on the west coast, in the southern part of Sweden. The village is sheltered from the wind by a hill, which gives the village and harbour a calm, tight atmosphere. Båstad has 5 000 permanent inhabitants. In summer the area grow to more than 50 000 people.
The race area is direct outside the harbour with no obstacle.Depth: 10-15 m. No or light current. No tide.
Wind shifts from day to day, normally 5-10 m/s. Main wind direction SW-NW. Winds from W and N give steady wind and nice waves. Winds from S and E give changing wind and flat water.
Sailors best stay is Hotel Riviera Strand close to the beach and walking distance to Båstad harbour. Riviera has 148 apartments with room for four to six guests.
Hotel Skansen is situated at the harbour and the beach – 173 rooms, 330 beds.

Båstad is a summer vacation area with a large variation of activities. The bay has long sand beached for swimming and water sports. Golf is popular with more than 20 golf courses within 1 hour drive. The hills and forests around Båstad are perfect for outdoor activities.
There are a lot of tourist attractions, some of the most known are: Hallands Väderö, Hovs Hallar, Norrvikens trädgårdar and Birgit Nilsson museum.
